The Connacht badminton team secured silver at this year’s Interprovincial Championships in Baldoyle Badminton Centre on Sunday.
This is the first time that Connacht has secured a placed position at this tournament, which is contested by all the regions. Connacht beat Munster and Ulster, but lost to Leinster.
The Connacht team included members of the Galway Lawn Tennis Club, including former Leinster and Irish senior international player Caitriona Farrell, while Emer Lalor first played for Connacht in 1979, and Orla Creaven has played interprovincials for Connacht at all levels. Connacht also entered teams at Under 13, 15,and 17 levels.
