Geshe Michael Roach to visit Galway

The world renowned Geshe Michael Roach is to give two seminars and lead a yoga workshop during a trip to Galway next month.

A successful businessman, Roach is also a fully qualified Buddhist monk after becoming the first westerner to complete the 20 years’ monks course (Geshe degree ) in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. The holder of a business degree from Princeton University, he has received the President’s scholar medallion from the President of the United States.

Roach was one of the founders of the diamond company Andin International. The venture was started with a loan of $50,000 and by the time he retired as vice president of the diamond division, it had an annual turnover of more than $110 million. Last year the company witnessed its annual turnover expand to $250 million and it was subsequently purchased by Warren Buffet’s Richline Group.

Eleven years ago Roach wrote a book called The Diamond Cutter in which he detailed the secret to his personal and business success. It has been translated into multiple languages and sold millions of copies worldwide.

Having given talks to both the public and some of the world’s largest companies such as British Airways and Goldman Sachs he is now bringing his unique perspective on business and personal success to Galway. He will outline how the teaching of Buddhism and the ability to manage karma can allow you to “supercharge your success” despite the current recession. During the talks, you will learn to how to meet and exceed your financial goals, become calmer and more focused, and even how to find and maintain that special relationship.

There will be a one hour free public information night tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Carlton Hotel where you can find out more and book your place for the upcoming talks. The ”Supercharge your Success” talks with Geshe Michael Roach will take place on Friday May 6 and Saturday May 7 in the Carlton Hotel, each starting at 7pm. Also on Saturday May 7, Roach will lead a three hour yoga workshop titled ‘yoga for busy people’ at the Yoga Shala on the Headford Road (above Argos ) at 2pm. Early booking is advised.
