Headford to get new community playground

Headford is to get a new community playground as the Galway County Council has granted planning permission for it together with an amenity walk in the town.

Fianna Fáil councillor Mary Hoade, who worked with the community group preparing the application, has welcomed the decision. Funding is now being sought from Galway Rural Development to develop the playground.

“This much needed amenity is long overdue,” she said. “This will not just facilitate the Headford area, but the many surrounding communities in the locality who have to travel long distances for a playground.”
