Irish designer to headline fashion extravaganza

Leading Irish designer Matt Doody will headline the “Glamour at the g”- an evening of fashion and design - at the five star g hotel on Wednesday May 11.

The Kerry native has been making waves in the Irish fashion industry dressing Ireland’s most glamorous personalities, including actress/author Amy Huberman and television presenter Kathryn Thomas.

A selection of the city’s leading boutiques and fashion houses will also take their styles to the catwalk of the award winning hotel, including Olivia Danielle, Treasure Chest, Demora, Squisito, Ail Ruin and Les Jumelles.

Glamour will meet goodwill as the funds raised will go directly to Cancer Care West, ISPCC and NBCRI.

Set across the three signature lounges of the hotel, the evening will commence with a pink prosecco and canapés reception at 6pm before the real fashion extravaganza begins. Models from the Catwalk agency will show off high street outfits, once-off collections and exclusive designer trends.

Creative head pieces by bespoke milliners Suzie Mahony Designs and Emily Jean Designs will add the finishing touches while high-end fashion for men will be provided by Louis Copeland and Sons. Hair and make-up will be by Raymond Skelton Hairdressing and Angela Silke beauty therapy.

“Having raised over €15,000 for the three charities last year, we are thrilled to host Glamour at the g for a second year,” says Damien O’Riordan, the general manager of the g Hotel. “With acclaimed designer Matt Doody headlining the event and designer fashion from local boutiques it promises to be a spectacular event. Guests can enjoy an evening of fashion and glamour while supporting three very worthy charity organisations in the process.”

Tickets for the fashion event cost €65 and are available directly from each of the charities; (091 ) 865200 for additional details.
