Jinx Lennon @ Róisín Dubh

SPOKEN WORD artist, social commentator, and agit-folk singer-songwriter Jinx Lennon plays upstairs at the Róisín Dubh on Friday April 15 at 9pm.

Jinx recently appeared on The John Murray Show on RTÉ Radio 1 and he also took part in For this: Poems for our Ireland at the Poetry Now 2011 festival in Dun Laoghaire, alongside David Norris and Miriam O’Callaghan.

“I played a couple of pieces of my own speciality of rawness and rage in amongst the flowered language and impeccably chosen lines of those who took part,” he says.

The Co Louth man has recently returned from a tour of Scotland. “I was spreading the Jinx Lennon gospel in a God fearing country,” he said. “The shows went down a storm in Edinburgh and Ayr and I will be back soon again. The Scots get the stuff, especially in the west of the country.”

Admission is €10. See also www.jinxlennon.com
