21 OUTS will launch their debut album Maybe I’ll Have Yours upstairs at Kelly’s, Bridge Street, this Saturday at 9pm.
The Galway based band are Philip Cassidy (guitar/vocals ), Ben Parker (drums, backing vocals ), and Keith Higgins (bass ). Their style of music mixes heavy rock and blues with a distinctly grunge attitude and their influences rage from Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallagher to The Kinks and Alice in Chains.
21 Outs have played numerous gigs up and down the country and they have supported Jape and The Republic of Loose. They have also enjoyed positive reviews, with Flirt FM 101.3 calling them “a band you should pay attention to” while the Mayo Advertiser said “these guys never seem to falter when they perform to a live audience”.
Band leader Philip Cassisy was also singled out for praise by Dublin City FM which said: “Phil has a fine set of lungs...he plays guitar with the beguiling skill of someone much older than he looks. I could only watch, slack-jawed, as he arpeggio'd, slapped and hammer/pulled that beautiful, battered Strat of his.”
Support is from The Deadbeat Collective, The Brno Chairs, and Thomas McPartland. Admission is free. See www.facebook.com/21outs
