RockSoc to host Irish premier of Bob and The Monster

NUI, GALWAY’S Rock Society, aka Rock Soc, will host the Irish premier of the documentary Bob and The Monster in the Bailey Allen Hall on Friday July 8.

Six years in the making, this documentary film follows Bob Forrest, lead vocalist and lyricist for Los Angeles bands Thelonious Monster and The Bicycle Thief, through his life-threatening struggle with addiction, to his transformation into one of the most influential and controversial drug counsellors in the US today.

Bob and The Monster is written and directed by Keirda Bahruth, produced by Rick Ballard, Keirda Bahruth, and Austin Wilkin, with music produced by Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Josh Klinghoffer. It crafts contemporary footage, animation with archival performances and personal videos. It also features interviews with Courtney Love, Anthony Kiedis, and Flea.

The event will begin with a performance by Zander Schloss & Sean Wheeler. There will be a Q&A session afterwards with the production crew and Bob Forrest. Bob will also perform songs at the event.
