Galway entrepreneur aims for Shell Livewire success tonight

A young Galway entrepreneur has been awarded €1000 by Shell Livewire for being the most successful and inspirational young entrepreneur in the Western region.

Irene Trowell of Galway Laser and Skincare Clinic will now compete for the prestigious “2008 Shell Livewire All Ireland Young Entrepreneur of the Year” title, which will be presented at a gala awards tonight October 30.

Galway Laser & Skincare Clinic is the first dedicated laser clinic in the west of Ireland, specialising in treatments such as laser hair removal and laser tattoo removal. The clinic offers customers the most advanced and up-to-date treatments available, with all procedures carried out by highly trained, experienced personnel.

The Livewire programme, which is promoted across the island of Ireland by Shell Exploration & Production in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland and the DETE, celebrates the spirit of enterprise that is alive and kicking in young people aged 16-30.

Speaking at the Western regional heat awards Colin Joyce from Shell said Shell are delighted to be involved in the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year event in Ireland for the ninth year.

“This year’s entrants have impressed us with their innovation, commitment and drive and we look forward to watching their businesses grow over the years.”

At the award ceremony, Jorg Muller, Solaris Botanicals in Ballybane, Co Galway also won two awards - he was presented with the award for Entrepreneurial Spirit as well as for the best display on the night of the final.

Irene Trowell of Galway Laser and Skincare Clinic won the Western Regional Final of the Shell Live Wire Awards and will now go forward to represent the west in the final tonight in a bid to become Ireland’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
