Connacht Rugby has signed a young prop from the Leinster academy, replacing Jamie Hagan who returns to Dublin.
Bristol-born Stewart Maguire, who has represented Wales at u-16 and 18 levels, is joining on a two-years contract. He was a member of Ireland’s u-20 World Cup side, alongside Connacht’s Eoin Griffin, Tiernan O’Halloran and Denis Buckley.
Connacht assistant coach Dan McFarland said Maguire comes with a point to prove. “We’re really looking forward to working with Stewart. He has good potential as a scrummager and is a dynamic ball carrier, having played well for the Ireland u-20s last season. He has not been able to get senior game time at Leinster and is coming here with a real point to prove. ”
