Man denies falsely sitting driver theory test and gaining employment

A hearing date has been set for a man charged with allegedly sitting a driver theory test in the place of another person and for working without an employment permit at a Galway hotel.

Appearing at Galway District Court on Monday Patrick Nlandu (40 ) with an address at Great Western House, Frenchville Lawn, Eyre Square, entered a plea of not guilty to a number of charges brought against him.

Nlandu has denied the charges of being in possession of a driver theory certificate which was false and to dishonestly, by deception, obtaining services to receive a theory test certificate with the intention of making gain for himself or another by sitting a driver theory test in the place of another person at the Theory Test Centre at Bridge Street, Galway, on April 1, 2008. He is also charged with using a French identity card in the name of another person which was false and entering employment in a Galway hotel without the necessary employment permit between the dates of July 7, 2009, and December 28, 2010.

Judge Mary Fahy remanded Nlandu on continuing bail to June 22 next when a hearing is expected to take place.
