Do you have a guitar lying around the house? Do you think it’s time you learned how to play it? The April term of Guitar Made Easy gets under way from Monday next April 4 , with a special deal for families – three can attend for the price of two!
Guitar Made Easy takes a radical new approach to teaching music. Pupils don’t learn to read music, there are no exams, a minimum of music theory, no requirement to learn dull boring pieces, and no pressure to perform. According to course tutor, Kevin McNicholas: ‘It’s all about playing music for the sheer fun of it. Playing guitar is not a talent, it’s a skill. That means anybody can learn.’
In recent years, Kevin has seen a big increase in the number of parents attending class with their sons and daughters.
“It’s a really great way for parents to share an interest with their kids. Both parties benefit, and having someone else in the house to practise with certainly doubles the fun.”
Classes start in Oranmore on Monday April 4, Galway on Tuesday, Tuam on Wednesday and Castlebar on Thursday. Beginners classes are at 7.00pm and the Improvers class is at 8.15pm. Further details are available from www.guitar-made-easy.com, or you can ring Kevin McNicholas at 093-36724.
