New book published on setting up a business

The Galway City Partnership has published a new introductory booklet for those wishing to set-up a co-operative business.

The book is entitled Co-operative Advantages of Doing Business: an Alternative Way to Compete in a Free Market Economy.

Speaking about the benefits of co-operative businesses, Charlie Currie, project officer with the Galway City Partnership, said it is “an opportunity for the unemployed in Galway city to help each other. By joining together with like-minded people to address a social need, this can create local employment and therefore help to generate a real income”.

The booklet is free and available from local community/resource centres or it can be downloaded by going to the www.gcp.iewebsite
