The NUI Galway Students’ Union will host a Meet the Candidates event where the public can hear and ask questions of those hoping to be elected to Seanad Éireann’s NUI Panel.
The event will take place in the Bailey Allen Hall on Monday April 4 from 6.30pm. Three of the 60 new senators will be elected exclusively by graduates of the National University of Ireland. There are 27 candidates seeking votes from NUI graduates.
“Following what was the arguably the most important election in a generation, interest levels of all voters are at an all time high,” said SU president Peter Mannion.
“More than ever people want to know who their representatives are and what they are doing. Candidates understand the importance of using every opportunity to communicate with voters and we expect a very high turnout on Monday 4.”
