“HIS STYLE is mesmerising and infectious and he ought to be booked at every festival going,” so said Blues Matters about the English Americana folk/roots musician Stompin’ Dave Allen.
Certainly Blues Matters advice has been heeded by the Glastonbury Festival as he is due to play there for the umpteenth time again this year.
Stompin’ Dave Allen has been described as “one of the world’s great performers” (Maverick magazine ) while his stage show has been called “bordering on mania, with stamina bordering on the impossible” (Scrumpy & Western magazine ).
The Dorset based musician performs on five-string banjo, fiddle, guitar, piano, harmonica and vocals, and tap dances. He specialises in bluegrass, blues, country blues, folk, vintage country, hillbilly, traditional songs, originals, and covers.
He has enjoyed great critical acclaim. Blues In The South said: “Dave’s spectacular talent leaves us less talented people open mouthed in amazement.” while Maverick magazine said “Never have I seen or heard an artist quite like Stompin’ Dave.”
Stompin’ Dave plays The Hill, Kylebrack, this Sunday followed by The Quays on Tuesday. For more information see www.stompindave.com
