New dealer principal at Ballinasloe Ford dealership

Teresa Kilmartin has taken over at the helm of Ford dealer Fred Kilmartin Ltd in Ballinasloe following the sad passing earlier this year of her brother and managing director Noel.

Teresa will be a familiar face to Kilmartin’s customers, having long been a member of the team at the dealership, which will mark a half-century in business next year. The late Fred Kilmartin and his wife Rose set up the dealership in 1962 and it has retained the professionalism and warmth of a family business ever since, with Fred’s insistence on the highest standards of sales and service remaining a mantra of the management team.

“The Kilmartin name is one of the longest standing in the Ford dealer network, and it is reassuring to see the operation in Ballinasloe continue under the stewardship of a family member,” commented Eddie Murphy, chairman and managing director of Ford Ireland. “We wish Teresa every success in a business she knows inside out, and I know Kilmartin’s customers in the area will benefit from her commitment to it in the coming years.”

Fred Kilmartin Ltd sells the full range of Ford cars and commercial vehicles, employing highly technical and experienced Ford specialists in sales and car service. 2004 saw an expansion of the premises, with the construction of a new showroom and offices. The service department was recently upgraded, with the addition of a pre-NCT test lane, air conditioning service and laser tracking. The parts department carries a range of genuine Ford parts, while the used car centre has a wide selection of AA proved quality pre-owned cars.
