Toyota Ireland, one of the country’s most successful and loved brands, has just hit the monumental half a million sales mark for its passenger vehicles.
The 500,000th sale was made in February at Tony Burke Motors, in Ballybrit, Co Galway, when Siobhan Murphy from Salthill in Galway purchased a new Toyota Yaris.
Commenting on the news, David Shannon, managing director of Toyota Ireland, said: “We’re very proud to have hit the 500,000 sales milestone and would like to thank our loyal customers for their continued support over the years since Toyota first began selling vehicles in Ireland in 1972.
“We are confident that the quality, reliability, value and choice inherent in the Toyota brand are key contributing factors to the reason why 90 per cent of the people who buy Toyota remain loyal Toyota customers and repurchase.
“With a great start to 2011 and a number one ranking in sales and scrappage, we are laying the very early ground works for the next 500,000 sales.”
