The Crane to celebrate tenth birthday

MICK CREHAN has been at the helm of The Crane Bar on Sea Road for a decade and to celebrate this milestone, the venue will host a party running from Thursday to Sunday.

In those 10 years The Crane has become one of the city’s leading live music venues and an essential port of call for all those (both performers and the public ) who love Irish trad, folk, roots, singer-songwriter, or Americana.

The Crane Bar 10th Anniversary Party starts tomorrow from 1pm with music by Sean Ryan, Mick Crehan, and Greg Cotter; at 7pm there is Tony and Jackie Small and Anna Falkenau; and at 9pm it’s Greg Cotter, Mary Flanagan, and Harry Donaldson.

On Friday Mick Crehan, Ailbhe Ó Monacháin, Johnny O’Halloran, and special guest Dessie O’Halloran take to the stage at 7pm followed by the Timbertramps at 9.30pm.

Saturday sees Cormac Cannon, Clare Keville, Breda Keville and Kathleen Loughnane play at 7pm while at 9.30pm Michael Chang and Bill Wright will be performing downstairs while Bernie O’Mahoney, Ruth Dillon, and friends will be upstairs.

On Sunday Sean Ryan, Mick Crehan, and Greg Cotter return for more music at 1pm; The Lazy Blues Band with special guest John Conneely play at 7pm; and at 9pm The Crane House Band featuring Greg Cotter, Mary Flanagan, and Harry Donaldson and surprise guests, will be doing the entertaining.
