Tonight (Thursday ) the Malt House will hold a fundraiser in aid of Ronan Scully’s North Pole Challenge with the launch of its new spring menu. Ronan Scully is always a busy man but this year is exceptional. He has just finished with his role as a leader in RTE’s Operation Transformation but the challenges do not stop there. Next up he is running a marathon at the North Pole this April, a challenge that will truly test the adopted Galway man.
However the North Pole Marathon is not just a personal challenge for Scully, it is also an opportunity for him to raise money for six different charities. Over the coming weeks Mr Scully will hold a number of different events and he hopes that people will attend and support. Tonight’s event in the Malt House commences at 7.30pm and tickets for the sumptuous event cost just €15 each.
The Malt House will launch its new spring menu at 7.30pm today (Thursday ) and you can go along and taste selections from the new menu. The Malt House is known for keeping in time with what is in season and the new menu will again draw on the best and freshest local produce that is available. The new spring menu will feature Colleran’s smoked suckling pig, Clarinbridge clams with sea fennel and samphire, west coast haddock, and many more tasty treats. Head chef Brendan Keane will introduce the menu and Ronan Scully will speak about his recent challenges and those ahead of him.
