People can get a taste of the music of the sixties at a special fundraiser in aid of the stroke unit at University Hospital Galway on Wednesday April 6 at Seapoint, Salthill, at 8pm.
Shake a leg and meet old friends at the Swinging Sixties Showband Show which will feature Johnny Carroll of the Premier Aces, Paddy Cole and Des Kelly of the Capitol Showband, Jimmy Higgins of Raindrops Showband and Frankie McBride of the Polka Dots.
Other famous faces will include Shaun O’Dowd of Ding-a-ling fame, Tony Stevens, the Conquerors, Brendan Shine and Louise Morrissey.
Tickets cost €25 and are available from Seapoint, McLoughlin’s pharmacy, Des Kavanagh electrical, Jaycee and Salthill post office.
The money raised will help fund vital rehabilitation services at the stroke unit
