‘Remember dem?’– Traditional sweet shop opens in city

A new treasure trove of traditional sweets and treats will open in the city tomorrow (Friday Feb 25 ).

Located next door to Kellys’ Bar on Bridge Street, Sweet Dreams is a throwback to the old sweet shops that could be found on every street corner back in the day!

It aims to tend to the collective sweet tooth of Galwegians with wall-to-wall jars, filled with sugary childhood memories. One jar is bursting with Bullseyes, another is swollen with Black Jacks while a third is full of Flying Saucers.

A quick look around Sweet Dreams is like taking a trip back into the sugar-coated world of childhood delights. All the old favourites can be found here, including Liquorice Pipes, Clove Rock, Dip Dabs, Spogs and Cola Bottles to name but a few.

As well as catering for Galway’s sugar rushes; the shop also offers a variety of sugar free temptations, speciality teas, coffees and hot chocolate, making Galway life just that little bit sweeter Sweet Dreams is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday.
