It’s that time of year again, we’ve piled on a few pounds and our clothes are feeling a little too snug! The recent Arctic conditions have not helped, getting out and about has not been easy! But now the long evenings are upon us and our energy levels are increasing.
At the Coast Club Leisure Centre, Furbo, Galway the staff will provide you with some helpful tips and advice on how to get the most out of your work out and how to stay motivated.
While healthy living is a life-long, life style choice, we can all learn how to make small changes in our daily lives that will make a big impact on our physical and mental health. It doesn’t take a massive commitment to make this happen, even walking instead of taking the car is a step in the right direction and will show results in a short space of time. The thing is, once we begin to see the results, this gives us a taste of just what can be achieved.... read on for some inspiration!
If the gym is “not for you” and you find it hard to motivate yourself on your own then the Coast Club has an extensive range of fitness classes which will truly get you started. Group training can sometimes be the way to go!
New to the Coast
Zumba The Latin-inspired, easy to follow, calorie burning, dance fitness party. Feel the music and let loose! You don’t need to be fit or a dancer! Wear comfy workout clothes and trainers. Bring a big bottle of water and a big smile!
Secret Weapon!
New to a lot of gyms around the country and including the Coast Club is the Vibro Plate. The Vibro Plate works by using different poses to activate different muscle groups simultaneously to stretch, tone or strengthen, enabling you to target particular areas of the body. This training is low impact allowing anyone regardless of their age or fitness levels to benefit from a fast and effective workout without putting strain on joints or the body. Regular training on the vibro plate can help improve muscle strength and tone, flexibility, range of motion and circulation and enhance metabolism to aid weight loss... these machines are also said to be secret weapons in many celeb households! And of course this is free of charge to Coast Club members!
Train together
Be part of the team to train together for the Spiddal triathlon. With 14 weeks to go you have ample time to prepare together for this wonderful event. The Coast Club staff have designed a specific training programme, are giving nutritional advice and of course are helping with swimming techniques to ensure their team are fit and ready for Saturday 21st May.
