President McAleese visits Galway today

President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, will be out and about in Galway today for a series of engagements.

Despite being rushed to Sligo General Hospital complaining of chest pains last Friday President McAleese was discharged shortly after and resumed a full programme of duties over the weekend.

President McAleese’s visit to Galway today will include functions in the city and county. At 10.30am she is expected to arrive at Presentation Secondary School in Athenry to help them celebrate their 100th anniversary.

Then it is onto the National University of Ireland Galway to address the ‘Belong To Youth Project’ at 11.45am. At 2.15pm, President McAleese will make her way to the Salthill Hotel to launch the Galway Senior Help Line centre. She will then conclude her trip by officially opening the Tuam Community Childcare Care Centre at 3.30pm.
