FANS OF the current fifties revival will be in their element on Sunday March 6 from 8pm when Monroe’s opens its new venue, The Backstage Bar.
The Backstage Bar, located at the back of Monroe’s Live main stage, has a capacity of up to 180 people and will run a special Sunday night season throughout the coming months.
To launch the new venue there will be a concert from Joe Fury & the Hayride and DJ sets from Dave Barry and Kit Kola.
The glamorous Kit Kola will open the evening with a DJ set of rock’n’roll and psychobilly, followed by Joe Fury & the Hayride who play a mix of vintage country, rockabilly, bluegrass, swamp, and blues. Then Galway’s soul brother No 1 Dave Barry will close proceedings with a mix of 50s rock n’ roll and jump blues DJ set.
“We hope to offer an eclectic mixture of music and a venue where you can catch an early intimate show and then catch another act on their main stage after at no extra charge,” says Gary Monroe. The venue will open every Sunday from 8pm.
