IF YOU still feel all loved up from Valentine’s Day, then check out Dreams Of Love, a new theatre show which looks at love, through different, spectacular, and unusual acts.
Side-Show Productions will present its debut show in Galway, Dreams Of Love, in the Town Hall studio from Thursday February 24 to Saturday 26 at 8.30pm.
Dreams of Love is an original show co-created by the Side-Show’s Zita Monahan, Richard Walsh, and Martin Sharry.
Three actors are locked in a revolving love triangle. The spectacle turns through various guises from Romeo and Juliet’s amateur dramatics through to a melodrama on Youtube and on to a scene where a king demands a sandwich.
“In the treatment of our subject we reflect the many modes of modern culture consumption,” say the company members. “We’re open to hybridisation and seek to collaborate with other artists working in different art forms.”
Martin Sharry and Zita Monahan hold MAs in drama and theatre studies from NUI, Galway, while Richard Walsh completed a master’s in film in 2008 in the university.
Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
