The Galway Music Residency is beginning its annual search for an apprentice ensemble for the residency programme.
Last year’s search resulted in three apprentice ensembles being selected - the Cantabile Piano Trio from Gort, SoundPost String Quartet from Galway, and the Golden String Cello Duo from Limerick.
The ensembles received a full year of one to one training, working with the ConTempo Quartet, and high profile performance opportunities.
The Apprentice Ensemble Project is an open competition. The successful ensemble will be provided with practice space and resources to further their instrumental proficiency both as individual players and within ensemble playing. The position will last for one year running April to April.
