Cian Ó Cíobháin to launch An Taobh Tuathail Vol IV

CIAN Ó CÍOBHÁIN, the DJ, broadcaster, Gaeilgor, and tireless champion of left field, underground, world, and cutting edge new music, is about to launch An Taobh Tuathail Vol IV.

An Taobh Tuathail Vol IV, the latest album drawn from Raidió na Gaeltachta’s hugely respected show, will be officially launched in the Blue Note, tomorrow at 8pm.

The compilation features 16 tracks from artists. Highlights include a quixotic piece from Icelandic cellist Hildur Gunadóttir, instrumentals from Scandinavian artists Tape and The Gentleman Losers, feelgood ska from Welsh surrealists Dau Cefn, wistful 1980s-tinged pop from Georgian singer Natalie Beridze, Irish bands like Phantom Dog Beneath The Moon, Patrick Kelleher & St Catherine’s Home For Lazy Infants, as well as modern day electronica from Alex Smoke, Emika, and Actress.

Cian will have 50 copies of the compilation in CD format on the night to give away. The music on the album is very laid-back, which is the opposite to what Cian will be spinning on the night. Expect something closer in spirit to his 110th Street sets.

An Taobh Tuathail Vol IV will be available as a free download to listeners from www.rte.ie/rnag on Valentine’s Day. The download will be available for three months. Listen to An Taobh Tuathail every Monday to Friday from 11pm to 1am.
