Padraig Pearses lost out by three points (1-10 to 0-10 ) to Ballymartle (Cork ) in the All-Ireland intermediate hurling semi-final last Sunday in Templetouhy.
Pearses made the Cork outfit fight all the way to the final whistle and scored the last five points of the contest and were in total control for the concluding quarter.
The early dismissal of Tommy MacDonagh did not help their cause and they were overly dependent on Thomas Flannery for scores. He shot all their scores, (8 frees and and one 65 ).
In Ennis, Barna-Furbo were well beaten by Meelin (Cork ) and went out on a score-line of 0-16 to 1-04.
