GRAHAM GILLESPIE, the Galway born poet, will launch his debut collection Love, Sorrow And Joy in The Ardilaun hotel this Saturday at 7pm.
Love, Sorrow And Joy is subtitled ‘A New Voice in Irish Avant-garde Poetry’ and the collection features an introduction by Dr Micheál Ó hAodha of the University of Limerick exploring the avant garde nature of Gillespie’s poetry.
The collection is also strongly Christian and spiritual. As Dr Ó hAodha writes, Graham’s “poetry is contemplative in the way of the great mystics, those who sought the transcendent through art and suffered on the journey”.
Graham was born in Galway in 1973 and studied at NUI, Galway and his poetry has been published widely in various publications. All are welcome to the launch.
