Two Galway East general election candidates will hold the official launches of their election campaigns over the coming week.
Labour candidate Lorraine Higgins will hold the official launch of her campaign in the New Park Hotel, Athenry, tomorrow at 8pm.
The MC for the evening will be Galway city councillor Niall McNelis. Gawlay West TD and party president Michael D Higgins adn Galway West candidate Derek Nolan will attend.
There will also be a fundraising night for her campaign in Dans Bar, Athenry, on Friday February 4.
Fine Gael candidate councillor Paul Connaughton jr will hold his launch night in The Malt House, Mountbellew, on Friday February 4.
The guest of honour will be Dr James Reilly, deputy leader of Fine Gael. Mountbellew based Seamus Dullaghan and his band, who will supply the music for dancing on the night, has tplayed at every Fine Gael function in Mountbellew since 1975 when the first social was held after the by-election of that year.
