Gaillimh le Gaeilge is hosting an information evening in association with last year’s Gradam winner, Bácús Uí Ghríofa/Griffin’s Bakery, for companies and organisations who are interested in entering the prestigious Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, Galway’s annual bilingual business award.
The Information Evening will take place in Griffin’s Bakery/Bácús Uí Ghríofa on Thursday, January 27 between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
At this event, Gaillimh le Gaeilge will also welcome their new sponsor, Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, NUI Galway, who will provide a week long Irish language course as well accommodation for two in an Cheathrú Rua.
The overall winner will receive a fantastic business package worth €15,000 kindly sponsored by the Galway Advertiser, Snap Galway, Galway Bay FM, Galway Airport, and the Galway Chamber.
Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh recognises, honours, and celebrates all the great bilingual work done in Galway city. The Gradam is named in honour of Seosamh Ó hÓgartaigh, founding member and company secretary of Gaillimh le Gaeilge. It is not essential to be a fluent Irish speaker to participate in this prestigious award. The aim of the award is to recognise companies and organisations in Galway city that demonstrates a visible, genuine, and creative use of the Irish language within their business, thus impacting on their staff and the bilingual image of the city.
