TULCA, GALWAY city’s festival celebrating the visual arts returns in November and to whet appetites, the programme of events for this year’s festival will be launched tonight.
The Tulca 2008 Programme Launch takes place tonight at 6pm in The House Hotel - Tulca’s main sponsor alongside Edward Holdings.
This year’s festival of exhibitions, visual art displays, events, and discussions, will be curated by the Irish artist and curator George Bolster, who is currently based in San Diego. Shows will take place throughout the city and in Athenry Castle and Tuam Mill.
The theme for this year is I-Podism: Cultural Promiscuity in the Age of Mass Consumption and will seek to examine how the public today is bombarded with information and how we use technology to make sense of the world.
The launch will feature a unique online discussion where members of the public and Galway’s arts community will be able to ask artists questions about their work and motivations.
