ENGLAND’S GEORGE VI suffered from a speech impediment and found himself king after his brother had unexpectedly abdicated.
Now in a role he neither sought nor wanted, he saw his country about to face Germany in a world war, and the British people looking to him for leadership and inspiration.
This is the background to the acclaimed new film The King’s Speech, which is currently on show in cinemas and stars Colin Firth, in a possibly career defining performance, as George VI.
To mark the release of the film the Galway Advertiser has three The King’s Speech goodie bags to give away. The bags include a cup, diary, bag, and bookmarks.
To be in with a chance to win just answer the following question: From when to when did George VI reign as King of Britain?
