Over The Edge returns for 2011

THE OVER The Edge readings will begin 2011 - it’s eight year in existence - with readings from Michael Coady, Dani Gill, and Sarah Griffin, next week.

The reading takes place on Thursday January 20 from 6.30pm to 8pm in the Galway City Library. The main reader is Michael Coady from County Tipperary, author of the poetry collections Two for a Woman, Three for a Man (1980 ), Oven Lane (1987 ), All Souls (1997 ), One Another (2003 ) and Going By Water (2009 ).

He has won numerous awards for his work including the 1979 Patrick Kavanagh Award for Poetry in 1979, the 2004 Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award for Poetry, and the RTÉ Francis McManus short story award. He is a member of Aosdána.

Also reading is Dani Gill, the literature officer for the Galway Arts Centre and programme director of Cúirt International Festival of Literature. This will be her first public reading.

Sarah Maria Griffin is from Dublin and is a student on the MA in writing at NUI Galway. She has performed at The Glor Sessions, Exchange Words, and The BrownBread Mixtape. Sarah writes poetry and fiction.
