Reset Ireland, an initiative to facilitate social, political, and economic change through developing an action plan for open government and media reform, is coming to Galway.
Reset Ireland will hold a two day event, this Saturday and Sunday, from 9am to 4pm, at the 091Labs, Exchange House, Fairgreen, near the Radisson Blu hotel.
The event is being organised by Declan Elliott, a facilitator interested in self-organising systems and peer learning and Kevin Flanagan, a visual artist with an interest in digital culture, who are calling on the public to attend.
“The aim of Reset Ireland is to create an opportunity for talented people to come together and to work collaboratively on developing a set of proposals with a positive vision for Ireland’s future,” they said. “If you have an interest in media freedom, digital or otherwise, government openness, transparency and accountability then this applies to you.”
The outcome of the event, the proposals, and action plans discussed and created at the meeting, will be published online, work on which will continue through a wiki after the conference.
The final text will be attributed to its many authors and openly licensed for people to share. A summary of the output will be distributed to all Irish political representatives.
