WOULD YOU like to have the chance to turn the Galway Arts Centre on Dominick Street into a fort? If so, then go along to Fort Building with the Knee Jerk collective.
On January 22, Galway-based art collective Knee Jerk is inviting the public to come and build a fort in Gallery 2 of the Galway Arts Centre from 2pm to 6pm.
Knee-jerk proposes to transform the centre through the fort building workshop. The workshop will be introduced to the participants with a presentation from Knee Jerk and on forts and alternative structures.
Workshop participants will, with the assistance of the collective become ‘Fort Architects’ and create a temporary fort structure within the project space with materials supplied by the collective. After the workshop has commenced, the fort will be open to the public to explore.
The workshop is open to both adults and children (children must be supervised at all times ). Materials will be supplied but the public can bring their own if desired.
Admission to and participation in the event are free.
