Conradh na Gaeilge's popular sean nós dancing classes under the expert tuition of Connemara sean-nós dancer Pádraig Ó h’Oibicín, return on Monday January 17.
Sean nós is an ad-hoc style of solo Irish dancing which survived the strict regulation of traditional dance in the 1930s. Over the last 15/20 years it has enjoyed a major revival.
Classes are being offered both to the complete beginner at 7pm, for improvers from 8pm, and for the more experienced learners at 9pm. The classes are bilingual so this is a fun and active way to learn Irish.
Club Áras na nGael will also host special sean nós dancing nights during the year when students will get a chance to perform. The classes cost €90 for 10 weeks.
