At the moment Barcelona is booming with great music as the Red Bull Music Academy is underway.
The annual international jamboree of music this year has 60 talented music makers selected from applicants world-wide. Currently they are preparing songs and getting ready for a round-the-clock extravanganza!
Aspiring music makers, vocalists, and DJs from around the globe come togther in a new location each year where key industry employers from every genre join the selected finalists and share their love and knowledge of music. This is a once in a lifetime experience for the musicians to meet with some of the most influential and biggest names in the music business.
Ireland has been well represented at the Academy in recent years and this year is is no exception with two outstanding musicians, Niall Mannion (artistically known as Mano Le Tough ) from Greystones, Wicklow, and Rory Donohue (artistically known as Ruairi ) from Galway.
Mannion is a musician/DJ and describes his style as “techno-house”. He once studied classical piano and has a degree in economics under his belt.
Rory Donohue is a medical imaging student and studied music theory at school. He also played classical piano for 13 years.
