Cats are prowling in Karma for modelling talent

Catwalk Modelling Agency’s director and owner Mandy Maher is launching her annual ‘Catwalk On The Prowl’ this Christmas in Galway.

Last year Mandy and her scouts were overwhelmed at the standard of talent; both males and females in Karma on Saturday nights. Mandy scouts will be in Karma every Saturday over the Christmas period (December and January ) looking to sign up new talent.

“I have always discovered hidden gems at Karma. It is slightly older at the weekends and the crowd tend to have that street-chic, funky-chic look. This year, we are looking for something unique.”

"To be a good model, of course you have to be good looking. You have to have the height as well, at least 5' 8.” Other than that, there isn't really a shape or size. You don't have to be a size six or eight to be a model; they are screaming out for bigger women at the moment. People like to see models that they can relate to.

“They want to see what clothes look like on someone their own size, not some size zero. At the end of the day, this is Galway, not Paris or New York. The size of the average woman is 12 or 14 and we try to reflect that,” she said. . Contact [email protected] for more info or be in Karma on Saturdays nights to be seen.
