Celebrity chef Derry Clarke will tomorrow (Friday December 3 ) launch his new 'Kitchen' food range in the new Joyce’s Supermarket in Tuam between 12pm to 4pm, and in their Knocknacarra outlet between 5pm to 8pm.
The Michelin-starred restaurateur and RTE '4 Daily' regular will make personal appearances in the Co. Galway stores where he will be talking to customers about the premium quality meat from the butcher counter in Joyce’s also he will be introducing his own reasonably- priced Hereford beef burgers, Irish lamb burgers, Irish turkey burgers, gourmet sausages, dry-cured bacon, rashers, black and white pudding and sauces.
Joyce’s are delighted to team up with Derry and Michael Bermingham (the meat supplier ) behind Derry's Grazerfield brand which have supplied his famous L'Ecrivain restaurant for over 20 years. They also supply Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and now Joyce’s Supermarkets (Knocknacarra, Athenry, Tuam and Headford )
The idea for the Derry Clarke Kitchen range was hatched by Derry over a beer with Grazerfield's Michael Bermingham, after last year's Taste of Dublin, where the L'Ecrivain stand sold a record-breaking 9,000 burgers over the four days.
‘‘Most chefs put their stamp on a range and get their payment and then forget about it, but this range is something we're both personally very proud of,' says Derry. "We really want to expand the range and to add more dishes as we go along, such as spare ribs and dry-aged steaks. We also want to keep the products affordable, without sacrificing their quality."
The naturally Irish sourced and fresh-farmed range of meat at Joyce’s is complemented by Derry's irresistible sauces - Sweet Chili Chutney, Honey & Mustard, Pesto Mayo, and Garlic Mayo.
Derry recently scooped three Gold Medals for his scrumptious sausages at the ACBI (Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland ) Awards, just five months after the launch of the range at the Taste Of Dublin food festival.
'It's quite an achievement by Derry and his Grazerfield brand to gain this level of recognition so soon,' said ACBI spokesperson Emer Brady.’ The Gold medals went to three of their sausages - Garlic & Chive, Pork & Apple and the Breakfast Sausage, all of which are outstanding.'
Future additions to the range will include goose, duck, poultry products, dry aged Hereford beef steaks.
“At Joyce’s are always looking out for Quality Irish products that we can make affordable, and we believe that we a have found a fantastic supplier of meat who’s current customers mentioned above says it all,” says Pat Joyce.
