The case of a Connamara man accused of allegedly harassing a person by sending a number of threatening text messages has been ajourned to February next.
Tomas Welby (20 ) of Lower Camus, Ros Muc, Co Galway, appeared before Judge Mary Fahy at Galway District Court on Monday charged with sending by means of telecommunications system a message or other matter which was grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene, or menancing character to a person on October 8, 2009, at various locations in the city and county, contrary to Section 13 of the Post Office Act 1951.
Judge Fahy accepted jurisdiction and adjourned the matter for mention to February 21, 2011.
