NUI Galway’s School of Business and Economics holds career mentoring event

The NUI Galway J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics Career Mentoring Event was attended by 20 students from the J. E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics and 10 mentors holding senior positions in a range of industries and professions.

The focus of this event was to prepare students for the challenging job market by enabling mentors to share their experience and wisdom.

The students participating in the career mentoring event were given the opportunity to meet with a number of mentors on a one to one basis to gain insights into the world of employment, get advice and discuss their career direction and employment goals.

Speaking at the event Dr Emer Mulligan, Head of J. E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics, said: “We are delighted to hold this career mentoring event. This initiative highlights the J. E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics commitment to preparing its students for careers in the real world.

“It also complements our newly introduced modules focusing on Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise and Skills for Work Life on all of our undergraduate business programmes.”
