• The pick of the junior rugby games is in Monivea this weekend when Monivea RFC return to All Ireland action on Saturday. They take on Ballymoney RFC from Ulster in the All Ireland Junior Cup at 2.30pm.
Monivea had a hard-fought battle against Munster side Cashel, but eventually prevailed 23 - 19 to book their place in the quarter-finals. They now face an Antrim outfit that overcame favourites Boyne of Leinster in extra time, winning 27 - 23.
Monivea, having lost their home advantage in the semi-finals last season due to the weather, will be keen to make it count this weekend so they can advance to the last four again. Last year they lost to current holder City Of Derry in that rearranged fixture.
A second Connacht club is also involved in this weekend’s quarter-final with Sligo taking on Armagh. In the tie of the first round, Sligo overcame the 2009 cup winners Tullamore with a 19-11 win at Spollanstown. Now Sligo entertain last season's beaten finalists Armagh, who overcame Tralee by 34 -23.
