Galway Shopping Centre to host Croí fundraising musical event

The annual gala Christmas fundraiser in aid of Croí returns on Sunday December 5 to the Galway Shopping Centre, Headford Road, from 12 noon to 8pm.

On the day there will be a feast of musical events to entertain shoppers with musicians, singers, dancers, and carol singing choirs participating at various times during the day.

Among the many taking part will be the multi-award winning Tribal Chamber Choir, under director Mark Keane. The choir features the talents of Frank Naughton, Hildegarde Naughton, Fr Frankie Lee, Delia Boyce, Michael Dooley, Aoife Ní Chulain, Liam Downes, and Nicola McGuire.

The Tribal Chamber Choir’s new album Christmas Carols from Galway will be on sale and all proceeds from sales on the day will go to Croí, The West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation.

The Church of Christ the King, Salthill Choir will also be singing Christmas carols, under the baton of Sr Breda, with musical director Mark Keane.

Other performers on the day will be Matt Keane, the Guinness Jazz Band, John Connolly, SL Dance’s Louise Potter and her students, Ronan O’Flaherty & Friends, The Cameron School of Irish Dance, and Lorna Jordan.

There will also be face painting, balloons, Santa Claus, and a ‘surprise guest’. There will be a raffle with prizes, including hotel breaks, monster hampers, Christmas cakes, DVDs, a microwave, and meal vouchers. On the day Croí Christmas cards will be on sale at €5.95 per box of 10.
