Monaghans showroom, store and Supermac’s development set to boost Tuam Road

Business on the Tuam road is set for a major boost with the announcement that an expansion of Monaghan and Sons motor dealers incorporating a drive-thru Supermacs restaurant and an enlarged Centra store is to open within weeks.

The development will also see an expansion of the motor showrooms with more than 70 jobs being created in the construction and operation of the development with the entire project expected to be completed in springtime.

The Supermacs restaurant and drive-thru will open around December 8-10, with the Centra store opening in April.

A spokesman for Monaghans said the development currently boasts 40 new jobs involved in the construction project and when completed will lead to 30 new positions collectively among the Supermacs Group and the Centra supermarket and Esso Station, in the Monaghans group.

“In the current economic crisis when employment is at an all time low, this will be a huge boost to the local economy. It yet again reinforces the Monaghan’s Group as a major contributor to the economy in 'tough times.” he said, adding that with the major expansion of the Centra Shop and Esso servcie station will reinforce Monaghan and Sons position on the Tuam road, making it the biggest and most diverse business on the stretch.

Monaghans has also moved Hyundai cars into its main showroom on the Tuam road next to its Skoda and Mazda franchises. It has consolidated it position in the car industry, keeping ahead of the economic crisis.This coincides with the fact that Hyundai Cars Ireland have announced its new 'Triple care plan' which effectively offers customers five years each of manufacturers warranty, AA Roadside assistance, and free car health checks

This will help reinforce Monaghan and Sons as one of the major players in the car industry in the west of Ireland. Also Hyundai Cars Ireland are launching their open week this week in the main showroom on the Tuam Road.

The Monaghans Group also announced several appointments this week. Mr Pat Kelly is its new Hyundai Sales Manager and brings with him over a decade of experience in the industry. “It is both an honour and a challenge forefronting this brand,” he said.

Also Monaghan and Sons have appointed Tony Loftus as their New Mazda Sales Manager. Mr Loftus comes from a successful backround in Honda Cars Ireland and has been with the Monaghans Group since 2007.He looks forward to his new appointment with Mazda Cars Ireland and will continue to provide an excellent service to all of his customers.

Adrian Quinn continues to forefront the Skoda Franchise,which is still proving to be one of the most successful franchises in the Monaghan group. Mr Quinn is with Monaghan and Sons since 2003 and has over 11 years experience in the Motor Industry. Adrian looks forward to 2011 as his brand is launching some new models across the range.

Monaghan and Sons will continue to run their their Skoda open week until November 28 and staff look forward to seeing all customers both old and new.

The aftersales department is headed up by Thomas Palmer and front of house service adviser is Laura Newton and Hazel Farrell is the contact for any warranty issues or questions
