DAITHÍ Ó Dronaí, the immensely talented fiddle player, who injects Irish trad with a dose of youthful swagger, headlines the Róisín Dubh this Saturday at 9pm.
Could Daithí be Ireland’s potential answer to Canada’s Final Fantasy? He just might, as the Co Clare musician combines his fiddle and a recording loop station to create distinctive sounds.
Performing entirely solo with no pre-recorded tracks, Daithí creates looped sounds like tapping his violin as a drumbeat and even his Nintendo DS to help create music. He also appeared on the finals of Must Be The Music.
Support comes from Dublin band We Are Losers, the lo-fi indie-pop project of Super Extra Bonus Party guitarist Gavin Elsted. Check out their new EP at http://growuptobelosers.bandcamp.com.
Admission is free.
