McCambridge’s food and wine fair to raise €15,000 for local organisations

McCambridge’s seventh annual food and wine fair, which takes place on Thursday next, aims to raise €15,000 for a number of local organisations.

The event, which will be held at the Ardilaun from 5pm to 9pm, will raise money for GRÁ, the local support group for families of children with autism, as well as five city schools - the Dominican College, Taylor’s Hill, St Mary’s College, Educate Together Galway, Gaelscoil Dara and Coláiste Iognáid.

The proceeds of the tickets sold at the city centre shop and on the door on the night, will go directly to Grá. The parents councils will retain the proceeds of the 1,000 tickets they sell for the benefit of their schools.

The fair is a unique opportunity for people to taste a variety of gourmet and artisan foods and wines. Whiskey expert Seamus Lowry will provide a whiskey tasting masterclass at 6.30pm. If tasty treats are more your style check out the best of Irish and international award winning cheeses, chutneys, chocolates, cakes, puddings and preserves as well as world famous wines, coffees, beers and speciality spices.

“Our gourmet food producers. which we are very proud to support, are delighted with the opportunity to meet their customers at our annual fundraiser,” says Eoin McCambridge, managing director of McCambridges. “The Food and Wine fair also allows Galwegians an opportunity to ‘meet the makers’ from wine specialists to chocolatiers from around the country.

“Unusually this is a fair where nothing is for sale although all items are available at McCambridge’s of Shop Street so people have the opportunity to taste and sample without any pressure to purchase on the night.”

For more information or for tickets at €15 each contact Natalie at (091 ) 562259 at McCambridge’s of Shop Street or GRÁ or the schools involved.
