The Grainstore café deli, located on Lower Abbeygate Street in the heart of Galway, will host its first cooking demonstration on Christmas party food.
Set in a charming old stone building, which was formerly a grain store and is now a listed building, the café is an ideal venue for cooking demonstrations, fashion shows, or casual parties.
The cafe sources Irish produce when available to cook hearty, home style, food in an imaginative way, and due to its popularity, Friday November 26 will see it opening for a supper to cater for shoppers visiting the city on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Another interesting initiative is the use of the wine on offer. Wine may be chosen from the menu (bottles from €15 ) or patrons can purchase their own bottle from the deli section downstairs at deli prices, which can be served with their meals.
The deli offers an array of gourmet items which include gluten free baked pastries, salads, sandwiches, sweet treats, and store cupboard essentials. Any of the cakes or pastries that tickle your fancy can be boxed up beautifully to take home or bring to friends.
There is also a hamper and gift packaging service available. Unusual gifts are available for birthdays, anniversaries, etc, and include products from Tea Forte (formerly only available in Fortnum & Mason in London ) as well as lots of colourful trinkets and titbits for the home from Greengate and Rice of Denmark, all very attractively priced with today’s budget in mind.
The Grainstore Café Deli is open weekdays 8am to 6pm and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until 9pm. It is also open Sundays from 10am to 5pm.
