The Galway City Museum is asking the public to submit their old photographs taken with the statue of Pádraic Ó Conaire in Eyre Square.
The statue, made by Irish sculptor Albert Power, was unveiled by Éamon de Valera in 1935, and over the years became one of Galway’s best-loved and most photographed landmarks.
This photographic project is part of the upcoming project entitled The People’s History of Galway. Photographs can be posted to or dropped into the museum at any time, where they will be scanned and returned.
Alternatively they can be emailed to [email protected] along with your name and contact details. For more information contact the museum on 091 - 532460.
