Hip hop punk from Milk Kan @ Monroe’s Live

ENGLISH PUNK/hip hop trio Milk Kan have been described by BBC Radio 1’s Steve Lamacq as being “somewhere between Bob Dylan and Mike Skinner”.

Galway audiences will get the chance to see for themselves when the band play Monroe’s Live on Thursday November 18 at 11pm.

Milk Kan bring together free-form, stream-of-consciousness blues-rapping with acoustic guitars, to create what Lamacq has described as “lyrical genius of the observational kind and the weirdest, awkwardly endearing thing on earth right now”. Tom Robinson, of ‘2-4-6-8 Motorway’ fame has simply called them “genius”.

The band release their next single ‘Junkshop’ as a download on November 22.

Also on the bill is Co Louth agit-folk singer-songwriter Jinx Lennon, described by Damien Dempsey as “the best lyricist in Ireland”, who will be performing songs from his new album National Cancer Strategy.

Tickets are available from Monroe’s and Zhivago Records. For more information contact Monroe’s on 091 - 583397 or 087 - 9783245.
