Gardaí are warning the public to be on the lookout for suspicious activity following reports that thieves are stealing the fuel from domestic oil tanks.
Opportunistic thieves have been targeting houses in the city and Oranmore in recent weeks, emptying oil tanks that householders have had filled for the winter months ahead. Householders are being urged to be vigilant for suspicious activity and vehicles, and to report anything unusual to Oranmore Garda Station at (091 ) 388030, or Galway Garda Station at (091 ) 538000.
